Intellectual property has developed into a major institution governing the national, international and transnational traffic and exchange of knowledge and goods in the modern world. The conference will examine the development of intellectual property rights (copyrights and patents) in 20th century Europe from an interdisciplinary perspective including law, history, political science, cultural studies and literature. The aim of the conference is to bring together research on intellectual property on and from both East Central and Western Europe with the purpose of proposing a new comparative analytical framework in the study of intellectual property rights.
